My children love this soup. It's the only one they will eat. Made with potatoes, bacon, and cheese - it is a meal in itself!

Ingredients :

• 12 potatoes, peeled and chopped
• 1 onion, chopped
• ½ pound bacon, cut into small pieces
• 2 ½ cups milk
• 1 (15.25 ounce) can whole kernel corn (optional)
• 1 ½ cups dry potato flakes
• 2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
• 2 tablespoons butter
• salt and pepper to taste
