Bircher Muesli with Kefir

"This kefir-based bircher recipe is an excellent breakfast item. There is no better way to start your day than with a healthy bowl of bircher."

Ingredients :

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 6 tablespoons plain kefir
  • 1/2 apple, grated
  • 4 strawberries, diced
  • 1 teaspoon honey, or to taste

Instructions :

Prep : 15M Cook : 1M Ready in : 8H15M
  • Combine oats and kefir in a small bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until oats soak up the kefir and thicken, 8 hours to overnight.
  • Stir apple and strawberries into the oats. Add honey to reach desired level of sweetness.

Notes :

  • Experiment with the ratio of oats to kefir until you find what works for you, but I have found 1 to 1 a little bit too runny.
  • Add other berries or raisins instead of the strawberries if preferred.
